Turkey Barley Soup

One of the reasons I love having a traditional meal of turkey at Christmas is all the turkey stock I make on Boxing Day.  Instead of making the usual turkey soup this year, I made a hearty version of barley soup with stock, a little left over gravy, a spoonful of dressing I couldn't bear to chuck, and, of course, the usual carrots, onion and turkey.  Add a pinch of my new truffle salt and - ho ho holy great soup!

Thanks Sprouted! It's a hand-moulded bowl, made in Japan by a very tiny young (at the time of purchase)woman. You can't see this in the image, but there are little chunks of quarts embedded in the clay. Very tactile and great for holding a hot bowl of soup in your hand.
